In this week's episode, I explore Australia Day, and what it means to celebrate the nation that I'm a part of and to explore whether you celebrate your nation.
Australia. Day falls on January 26. Whilst every country has problems, I reckon Australia is a great place to be; it certainly has been to date. I must say it's not so great as it was when I was growing up.
The nation you live in is like a marriage. There are problems. There are challenges. There are difficulties. No country is perfect. In fact, I wonder whether any of you think that there is a perfect country on the planet?
But valuing your country gives you the passion, the enthusiasm, the impetus to protect it, to work for it, to understand it and to help it develop and progress.
I will share eight personal perspectives of what I think it means to be an Aussie. I'm hoping that today's Show may spark a deeper appreciation within you for the nation in which you live, so that you can play a part in its ongoing development. I hope you enjoy the Show.
