From the beginning of time, women have paid the price for humanity’s thriving with their blood, tears and guts. As women, we must recognize the supreme challenge of wounds that we naturally bear (because the awareness and healing of these wounds is part of the rite of passage to the Divine Feminine). The Mother Wound exists not only in women but in men, as well. Albeit, the genders materialize this vitiation in very different life ways and expressions ~ for example, a mother wounded man would have a challenging and often distorted relationship with his mother, and wife, and with women in general, he expereinces a feeling of aberration with love and sex and intimacy, and with the spiritual realm.
The Mother Wound in men originated from the very process in conception where the Shakti force is in inimitable control. The Shakti s the force pushing the procreation of life. In the process of conception, the mother who has not addressed her own wounds would unconsciously bequeath them to her progeny. Typically, a Mother Wound delivers a progressive set of traumas to the child’s psyche that is received over their growing years. Often, the mother is unconsciously living and working from her own inheritance of wounds. This primordial maternal force materializes in the way mitochondria DNA performs in the conception process. In humans, mitochondrial DNA is inherited from the mother because an egg cell has many more mitochondria than a sperm cell. This maternal DNA hones the structure and movement of the sperm which is programmed to swim undistracted to the egg. Along with the manifold gifts of life ferried in the union of sperm and ovum is that of generational maternal wounds.
