In Parts of Queensland Australia is an entity called Quinkin that is reported to live in the outback. This creature has its roots in indigenous Australian Oral history. In other parts of Australia this creature is known as Ghindaring, Jurrawarra, myngawin, puttikan, doolaga, gulaga, thooagal, yaroma, noocoonah, wawee, pangkariangu, jimbra, tjangara, yahoo, and yowie. They are common in indigenous Australian legends particularly in the eastern Australian States. They are also featured on Quinkan rock art which refers to a large body of locally, nationally and internationally significant indigenous Australian rock art characterized by their unique representations of spirit people known as Quinkin. Depicted on rock paintings in Queensland, particularly around Laura.
