The good thing about low-budget cable shows, is that the guests CHOOSE to be on, and don't have the pressure to perform. They can be themselves. This is pretty much how Frank Gorshin was, if you had a chance to spend time with him; polite, easy-going, not "on," or hiding behind impressions. He did have his own personality, which doesn't fit the stereotype of the desperate mimic or vent.
