The First annual Bob Dylan imitators contest was held at the "Speakeasy" club on MacDougal St. New York City on June 22, 1983.
Hosted by Eric Frandsen, Judges included Cynthia Gooding (folk singer and one of the first DJ's to interview Bob Dylan), Mike Porco (owner of Gerde's Folk City), Geoffrey Stokes (Village Voice writer) and Larry Sloman (writer). Performers included Jack Hardy, Frank Christian, George Gerde among others.
