Description

Shane and I look at the bands behind the legendary compilation album No New York.

Disclaimer:

Another mistake is confusing Rip it Up and Start Again by Simon Reynolds with the book No New York by Thurston Moore. The later book was the expensive one with the nice pictures. The Elvis Costello quote is from a review of Rip it Up and Start again, not the actual book. Though it's Costello's quote either way.

SONGS FEATURED:

James Chance and the Contortions - "Dish it Out"

Jame White and the Blacks & August Darnell - "Contort Yourself (Remix)"

Teenage Jesus and the Jerks - " The Closet"
