Yoga. Possibly my biggest passion in life is my #yoga practice. I haven't mentioned it much yet and I asked myself why?! Especially after the conversation with DJ. Yoga is my jam. It is how I begin to connect to my body, accept it, and really love who I am from the inside out.

In this life we eb and flow. And it is how we choose to be in each moment that shows up in and around our lives. In these times I have chosen to remain in the perspective that change is good. And yoga is good. It teaches me how to live and breathe in and out of life's every quickly changing moments.

Today's Rough Manuscript:

WE are all human. I was listening to my playlist on the way into class this morning. Scrolling, beings sure each song kind went together. And you know what? It was such a hodge podge of WHATEVER that I noticed it was sticking a few emotions within me. And I realized… that’s life. And life as an EMPATH.

With the eb and flow of life, feelings come and feelings go. If we let them. See, we don’t have to hang onto a feeling or emotion. And in these times with this amount of turmoil and confusion in the world… let it flow. Feel it. I urge you to sit with it. And maybe consider if it is a violent feeling or emotion. To sit with it and ask why you might feel it in that way.

See yoga and the practice of it teaches us a lot about ourselves through challenging and exhilarating postures.

I realized after my conversation with DJ the other day that I haven’t really talked ALOT about the practice of yoga. In itself. More, the spiritual teachings of it and how they parallel with my personal spiritual thoughts and believes.

So, imagine yourself in Warrior I. Maybe even get ito it right now in this moment. Breathe. Take a few moments to really allow yourself to explore it. Reach your arms higher, drop your shoulders, sink deeper into the front leg, square your hips more to the front of your mat. Now.. where can you create more space in warrior I? Ask yourslef. Then, scan… ask yourself if you are begging to come out of this posture now… why? Why do you want out? Do you need to fly quickly out of life as you want to fly quickly out of warrior I?

OR maybe… your getting comfortable…. and you want to explore more, clasp your hands behind your back, send your hips forward, and look for the back of the room creating more space in the frontal plane. And maybe then exploring down to humble warrior… seeing where you can let go more and yet still remain actively conscious in the posture.

If you are like me and you want to explore a posture MORE… and take it to a different level… then, maybe you feel like that in life.

Thriving and exploring deeper into life. These times are so weird… SO WEIRD. And I personally have chosen to openly be aware of what is going on in the world and to also choose NOT to let it bother me. Not to let it shake my vibe. My vibe is really really offing good right now. Or at least I feel it on my insides… I just want to hug everyone and love on everyone and seriously… we just need more positive, fun loving people in this world.

So as I was listening to the new playlist, I thought… today is whatever. These are songs that I was vibing with yesterday and today… so I am going to roll with it. From Kids In America to The Mountain to Blowin in the Wind… yoga is all about perspective as life is all about perspective.

Next time you step on the mat switch your spot. If you always gravitate to one side of the room.. maybe consider gravitating to another side. If you are persistent in remaining the same… check in. Where in life are you remaining the same? What needs to change?

Consider this… Change is good.

We all evolve. We shift perspective as the world continues to shift on its axis. As the people in this world continue to elevate to a higher plane of thinking or as others remain in an old school train of thought.

What do you choose? Do you choose to remain in a posture or to evolve into the next step and explore deeper?

Do you choose to learn to fly with wings like eagles… or stay safe in your bubble?

As covid lets up and Florida begins to open I am reminded of how much I LOVED being forced to stay in my home and see only a few people… and it’s like the cabin in the woods I always prayed for to search deeper. I started a podcast, got further in my book, and well… rested my mind. I found more strength in who I am as a human without the world crushing me.

And now that I am back in the world and really stepping into my power…. I find ease within this flow of life.

Possibly you aren’t like me. Possibly what is going on in the world is eating you alive. And I just simply urge you to ask yourself the questions. Why? What is the madness in your head for? Why are YOU feeling this way?

There is an old hym… that I think turned into a modern Christian song that talks about the string within. “There is a stirring deep within me, could it be my time has come?”

Is the stirring on your insides telling you to get clear and act on something? Is is for the greater good? And if it is not…. what is deeper.. let the superficial layer come off…. why do you feel so strongly about situation A or B?

It all circles back to how I sit (or stand) in a posture on the mat. I explore myself there. I find myself… or loose myself sometimes. Sometimes I get so caught up in the moments I am in.. living and breathing in and out of a flow that I don’t have a thought other than the moment. It’s when I loose my balance or shift out of a posture too soon…. that I choose to ask. What is happening? Where am I in life? Do I need to balance more? Am I okay just coming back into the posture?

We are all human. We all are evolving on some level. It is whether or not we choose to move deeper into it or not. To grow more or not. It is ultimately up to us at what pace we choose to live life. It is up to us if we remain stagnant in our spiritual walk or not. When I say search deeper.. I mean it.

When I teach I do my best to give those reminders to come in or out of a posture or to take it to the next level…. or to hold back. There is no wrong answer what you choose. Just like in life. For your journey is here. And you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

I feel we often need this reminder. You are exactly where you are supposed to be.

The light in me honors the light in YOU.

Namaste.
