With a Royal Marines background, Phil worked his way through to a senior rank, serving as a counter terrorism expert in Whitehall during the 9/11 attacks. He was later seconded to the security service where he was prominent in founding the UK Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre. Whilst there, he authored the National Security threat levels, before working closely with the US National Counter Terrorist Centre. He later commanded the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines and Royal Marines Tyne before leaving to found Sampson Hall; an organisation that delivers success to businesses across the country and indeed the globe, using lessons drawn from the military, government and business.
