In episode #7 we’re chatting with Myles Hopper and Giles Humphries; two of the three co-founders behind the UK’s most trusted healthy recipe box delivery company; The Mindful Chef. From their roots here in Exeter the company, founded in 2015, has raised close on £10m and shipped over 10m ingredients from small farms across the UK, in just 4 short years. Their philosophy is simple, yet incredibly effective; to make healthy eating as easy and as accessible to everyone, as possible. In September 2017 they also partnered with the charity One Feeds Two, setting themselves a goal of proving 10m meals to children living in poverty in Malawi. For every meal they sell, they donate a school meal to a child & have so far already donated over 800,000 meals. Their most recent investment of £6m from Piper will allow the Mindful Chef to continue its growth and expand its UK customer base, helping it to capitalise on the rapid growth of the recipe box market. "The investment and expertise that Piper bring to our business will help us to bring healthy eating to many more consumers in the UK and enable us to accelerate our growth ambitions for the brand next year and beyond.” Giles Humphries Rory Gibbs, Piper’s Investment Director who led the deal, said: “Mindful Chef is well placed to continue accelerating the growth of the recipe box market with its highly differentiated health-focused positioning. We are backing a young, dynamic team who are passionate about making healthy eating easier for their customers.
