We know what Parshas Zachor is ABOUT, but how much do we really understand it? And what does Zachor represent in the larger map and series of the 4 Parshiyos?
In answering these questions, we tackle the following other, major questions:
How can we both "remember" Amaleik and "erase his memory" at the same time? And who or what is Amaleik anyway? Is it just "pure evil." Does "pure evil" exist? What does it mean to battle against "pure evil"? Is the moral of Zachor just to be a good person? Something tells me that the lesson of Zachor is more nuanced than that. Here, we visit the roots of Amaleik/Haman from the standpoint of Tanach, Chazal, the ancient liturgy and some contemporary sources to explain the mystery of Parshas Zachor.
