LJ Jones is the Founder of Developing Financial LLC, a financial planning firm dedicated to providing financial planning solutions for young lawyers in their first 10 years out of law school. Engaged to a lawyer, he's seen first-hand how little financial education is provided to graduating law students. Ignoring and avoiding our personal finances can create unnecessary stress and anxiety that affects personal and professional lives. Between student loan repayment, knowing if you're saving and investing correctly, and possibly preparing for partnership, young lawyers face unique financial challenges.
Law school isn't set up to teach personal finance, but making smart financial decisions is almost as important as your technical legal knowledge. LJ's goal is to provide high-quality financial solutions to people often ignored in the industry. Through his financial planning process, he works with young lawyers to identify what is most important to them. It may be travel, buying a home, starting a family, paying off student debt, or anything else they value. Then, the financial plan is built together.
