The 42nd episode of The Reporter's Corner features BSU hockey forward Connor McClennon, who discusses his unique journey to the NCAA ranks after a brief stint at the pro level.
McClennon is one of 10 newcomers this season for the Beavers, who are 9-7-2 and currently sitting in second place in the CCHA standings. After playing four seasons of junior hockey in the WHL, McClennon signed a pro contract ahead of the 2023-24 season and played nine combined games in the AHL and ECHL before heading to the University of Alberta to play USports hockey. Through an appeal with the NCAA Eligibility Center, McClennon was given permission to join the Beavers' roster this season following the NCAA's ruling late last year that allowed CHL players to make the jump to the NCAA.
