Security experts are warning about the use of thousands of controversial Chinese surveillance cameras in public places in the north west.

Hikvision is used by councils, hospitals and universities - despite being banned in many other countries including Australia and the UK.

Queries from The Journal Investigates on whether Donegal County Council still use the devices were not responded to.

It was subsequently discovered that cameras were in use outside Letterkenny Public Services Centre with Hikvision devices believed to be installed in some libraries throughout the county.

Patricia Devlin from 'The Journal Investigates' says Government's been given multiple warnings about potential foreign access to critical infrastructure.
