Funding has been allocated for work to be carried out on the R287.
The funding was awarded by Leitrim County Council through the Low Cost Safety measure.
It will focus on adjusting the sightlines where the junction meets the local road, with work beginning later this year.
Local Councillor Frank Dolan says the area on the road in question has been a concern to residents for a while now.
