Description

Over 900 homes and premises in Leitrim Village are without power following a freak weather event on Sunday afternoon.

Gardaí and Emergency Services attended the scene as it is believed a tornado ripped through through the village.

The tornado caused serious damage to properties, cars, trees and walls.

No major injuries have been reported.

Diversions are in place at Drumgorman Lake (Drumshanbo-side), The Fingerboard (Carrick-on-Shannon-side) and Battlebridge (Arigna-side).
