Over 16 million euro has been allocated to group water schemes to improve services not managed by Uisce Eireann in the north west.
The Multi-annual Rural Water Programme has given funding to around 63,000 households nationally who get their water supplies by other means - including private wells.
Applications have been assessed from local authorities for projects to improve drinking water quality, source protection, leakage reduction, and provide infrastructure upgrades.
Among those included in the funding are the Castlebaldwin Group Water Scheme, Laghey Bar, Glencoagh, Rossnowlagh and Legan.
