And an event was recently held in Dublin calling for a Commissioner for Future Generations. The bill that would pave the way for the creation of the commissioner was proposed by Waterford's Marc Ó Cathasaigh, when he was a Green Party TD. Marc will join Mary in studio to discuss why he thinks the current government needs to enact this bill and what the role would mean from an economic and sustainability perspective, particularly for the younger generation.
