Just under a week since his father spoke on 'Deise Today', there's been a breakthrough in the case of six-year-old Tiernan Power-Murphy.
This morning (Thursday), the family of young Tiernan - who has autism - received the news they've been waiting for...confirmation of a hospital appointment in Cork on March 6 for the six-year-old to have his three broken teeth removed.
Eamon Murphy, Tiernan's dad, highlighted on the programme last week how Tiernan was in constant agony due to his broken teeth - and was languishing on a public waiting list that's up to 10 years long.
After the programme, the story was picked up by national media and politicians, discussed in the Dail and went to the highest levels of the HSE.
This morning (Thursday) Eamon Murphy exclusively revealed on 'Deise Today' they had just - moments earlier - got the call they had been waiting for; a hospital appointment date.
