Description

The future development of Bonmahon is fully dependent on upgrades to its waterwater treatment plant.

Currently, according to a local principal, development is hampered in the area.

Planning permission cannot be granted for new homes until such time as the treatment plant can withstand additional pressures.

Bernadette Murphy is the principal of Knockmahon National School in Bonmahon.

Her concerns, she says are urgent, around the future-proofing of school enrolment numbers.

Additionally, she says the significant efforts of locals to make the most of the region are being undermined by the failures of Uisce Eireann.

She spoke with Dymphna as part of this week's Tour de Blaa in Bonmahon.
