On Wednesday 11 May 2016 Professor Fentiman (the Chair of the Faculty Board), Dr Albertina Albors-Llorens (the Chair of the LLM
Examiners) and Dr Neil Jones (the Chair of the Part II Examiners and the Chair of the Chairs of Examiners) gave a talk on examinations.
The talk allows you to hear how the Faculty administers exams from start to finish. The process can seem mysterious from a student's
perspective: it has several stages, and each stage is necessarily shrouded in secrecy.
This talk is designed to remove any mystery: not by giving away secrets, but by explaining transparently how we ensure the fairness and rigour of all aspects of the examinations process. It is important that you have confidence in that process.
For the avoidance of doubt, the session is addressed to all students, whether taking examinations at Tripos, or for the LLM or the MCL degrees. Exam strategy is not discussed.
