Martin Westlake has worked in the Council of Ministers and the European Commission, with the European Parliament and in the European Economic and Social Committee, where he served as Secretary General, (2008-2013). He is currently Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Bruges and Senior Visiting Fellow at the European Institute, London School of Economics. This lecture was part of the Themed Lecture Series: 'Ethical Standards in Public Life', jointly organised by the Von Hügel Istitute, St Mary's University Twickenham and Las Casas Institute, Blackfriars Oxford, on 26th February 2015. The event was co-sponsored by the European Centre at POLIS, University of Cambridge.
