Talk given by Mr Luis Blay Esteban (Experimental Fluid Mechanics Research Laboratory, University of Southampton) at the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics group, University of Southampton, on 13 February 2019, as part of the Southampton/AFM seminar series.
The talk describes experimental work investigating the effect of turbulence on the sedimentation of disks, and shows that it modifies significantly the settling dynamics of the disks in a number of different ways.
