Spells are a spiritual practice - they are a way of working with the spirits of the elements and nature, which is very different to your average use of a spell, but each of the elements are their own independent, natural, organic forces with a spiritual wisdom. That's what we are working with to create magic - and you can have conversations with them.
Fire is an agency of change - and it can destroy if you don't have the right reverence and relationship with it; use it well and you'll create magic that changes the world, use it with a negative intention and it will be destructive. This is the gift for our Phosphoric women, when they harness their fire from love, they create magic.
Witches are healers - and in order to heal, we must be wounded - there's a deep gold to be found in those wounds; and, by working with spellcasting, we learn to heal ourselves, via alchemy
It's not so much about the words we use in spells, as much as the deeper energetic place they come from and the emotion that charges them. You are the creator of the spell, but you are also the spell itself; and when you wake up to that, that's the empowerment.
Spells are also a way of embodying your intention, rather than just a way to set intentions. In casting a spell, you are opening yourself up to the divine - to spirit - but you also have to take action on the spell, otherwise nothing will manifest.
