Norra helilooja Johan Svendsen (1840-1911) oli Griegi kaasaegne ja sõber, kes pani aluse sümfoonilise muusika traditsioonile Norras. Tema sümfoonilise muusika on salvestanud Neeme Järvi koos Göteborgi Sümfooniaorkestriga.
