Saunaõhtu on lätlasele püha. Saun on koht, kus kohtutakse Jumalaga, teisisõnu kirik. Saunas ei pesta ainult ihu, vaid ka hinge. Traditsioonidega Läti folgiansambel Ilgi on oma albumi pühendanud saunarituaalile (2011).
