Today we're bringing you an interview with Taylor Conroy all about empathy--aka, "a more digestible way of saying oneness--a deep knowing that we're all one." -Taylor Conroy. Taylor is a meditating surfer obsessed with building businesses that make change. His first social enterprise was 'Change Heroes', a fundraising platform that mobilized 15,000 people from 80 countries around the world to to fund 400 schools, water projects, libraries, girls scholarships, and more for 200,000 people.
Taylor has lectured at Harvard, Princeton, NYU, Cornell, and the United Nations. He regularly presents for corporate clients like Disney, Pfizer, and Lululemon, at social good events with over 10,000 people, and at private dinners and galas. Taylor has studied with Zen monks in Japan, run with the bulls in Spain, explored every continent on earth including Antarctica, surfed the longest wave in the world in Peru, and filmed mini documentaries in Nicaragua, Cambodia, Kenya, and Uganda.
He also co-founded an impact travel company, called Journey, that combined building homes for families living in underserved communities with yoga, surf, and adventure to create deeply meaningful and "empathy expanding" travel experiences. Journey brought 600+ people on trips to Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, building 150 homes that now house over 1000 people.
Taylor currently lives in Southern California and spends his time speaking internationally, writing his first book, and leading his most recent venture, 'The Idea Collective', a thought-leadership accelerator focussed on bringing high-impact ideas into the world through public speaking. The Idea Collective specializes in landing clients TEDx talks and other highly sought-after speaking platforms.
We're honored to bring you an in-depth conversation about empathy from a person who's seen it all--and who's cared enough to step into the trenches and advocate for change. Be sure to swing by Taylor's website, and experience him in person as the keynote speaker for the Life Revolution Summit in September 2019!
