In English, the verb "to be" can be conjugated in the present tense like this:

We are You all are They are
We use it to talk about time, health, describe characteristics, describe personalities, tell age, and location of a specific event or place.
What time is it?
It's 3:00pm.
How are you?
He is so cute.
She is nice.
I am 40 years old.
The party is in T building.
In Spanish, there are 2 main verbs that are used to express "to be" Ser and Estar. Both are irregular verbs, therefore you have to remember their conjugations.
We are going to focus on the verb “ser.”

SER is used to:
1. Tell time, specific and in general ... ¿Qué hora es? Son las dos.
2. Describe physical characteristics ... Bob es alto y rubio. Sally es baja y pelirroja.
3. Describe personality traits/inherent ... Jack y Jill son muy amables.
4. Identify people things ... Hanzel es el hermano de Gretel. Este es mi libro.
5. Ask for indentification ... Quién es él? Es el amigo de Goldilocks.
