John 1:35–51
This passage describes how the first disciples begin to follow Jesus. John the Baptist points to Jesus as the Lamb of God, and two of his followers go after Him. One of them, Andrew, brings his brother Simon, whom Jesus names Peter. Jesus then calls Philip, and Philip brings Nathanael. Jesus shows His divine knowledge by revealing that He knew Nathanael before meeting him. The passage ends with Jesus promising that His followers will see greater things, including heaven opened and angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man.
