Lean on Pete, Willy's third novel has just been published by Fabor and Fabor. Willy talked about the novel's setting, Portland Meadows Racetrack, where he likes to people watch and write. A lot of literary critics tend to class all Willy's characters as white trash no-hopers, Willy sees them as regular people, the people he knows and understands. On the way back into town, Taxi drivers were demonstrating and blocking traffic, so apart from getting stuck on the quays for 90 minutes it was a nice evening.
