Editors Select, May 2015 - I was late to The Selection party, but once I joined, I became one of its most enthusiastic revelers. I was content with the trilogy's end (#TeamMaxon), but ecstatic to hear Kiera Cass's announcement that the series would continue. The Heir delivers something quite different from its predecessors: a heroine, Princess Eadlyn, who isn't nearly as likable as her parents, America and Maxon. Eadlyn is content to rule alone as the future queen of Illéa, but agrees to host a Selection at her father's request to give her unruly subjects something happy to focus on. She does her best to sabotage the process, but her plans falter when feelings take hold. Cass does a great job of creating a fresh story, and I'm excited to watch another Selection unfold.
