Description

Dialogues on Education is a companion program to the weekly quiz program Scholastic Games of Lorain County.  Each week, program host Bob Tayek speaks to individuals who can shed light on a particular facet of the world of education, from the instruction of children to the broadening of experiences for older adults.  This week's program is the third in a series of special presentations for Black History Month.

It is a comprehensive interview with the grandson of Garrett Morgan, a significant figure in Black history.  Morgan was an Ohioan who achieved success as a prolific inventor.  His most notable innovations were the first three-position traffic signal, the first step in the development of modern traffic lights.  He also devised an early form of gas mask, which saved lives following a disastrous Cleveland explosion in 1916.  Memories about Morgan's life  include both his successes and his experiences with racial discrimination.
