Description

In the last episode Rabbi Steve Berkson unpacked more of the nuances of being in covenant by diving into the letter to the Hebrews, the Book of Hebrews. He moved at record pace going through the first four chapters in one setting.

Now we understand and should try to relate to the First-Century audience as the author of the letter makes the case for Messiah Yeshua’s place in the “big picture” and in the lives of the individuals as their standard of lifestyle was about to go away–the destruction of the Temple by the Romans and the suspension of the Aaronic/Levitical priesthood.

With that said we now go into chapter five where the author explains the differences between the Aaronic/Levitical priesthood and the Melchizedekian priesthood.

Then from chapter five Rabbi Steve touches on chapter six where we see a passage that has perplexed many, verses 4 through 6, specifically the word ‘impossible’. Does the passage tell us that some are doomed to destruction with no return?

If you’ve ever been told that the Book of Hebrews is just too hard to understand, then you definitely should watch this episode. Rabbi Berkson breaks down verse by verse, passage by passage, passionately relating the revealed meanings so that you understand and benefit.

Questions:
• If Messiah Yeshua takes on the role of High Priest (Heb 3:1) and does not qualify for the Aaronic - Priesthood, how can He be in that role?
• What “perfected” Messiah Yeshua? What do we struggle with?
• How does one become “dull of hearing”? What does it mean to be “dull of hearing”?
• What are “dead works”?
