The Notes from the Podcast
God bless you. Below are all the Scriptures written out so you can follow along with the podcast "The Greatness of His Power."
Ephesians 1:17 – 21 "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:"
We have the exceeding greatness of his power, and we decide how much we will use in both manifestations and ministries of service.
Ephesians 1:22 & 23 "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all."
Another way of saying this is that Jesus Christ is the head of everything, all to the glory of the Father. God always works with the body through the head.
Acts 2:32 & 33 "This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear."
Who shed this forth? Jesus did, and what he shed forth that they could see was the manifestation of speaking in tongues.
Ephesians 4:8 – 11 " Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"
Jesus is still giving these today. Jesus is involved in these two things: the manifestations and the ministries of service.
1 Corinthians 12:4 – 6 "Now there are diversities [different ways or kinds] of gifts [These are not gifts of the spirit but gifts of services to the body of Christ.], but the same Spirit [The same spirit that each Born Again person receives when they get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. It is the new birth spirit.]. 5 And there are differences of administrations [Differing varieties and ways of distributing services.], but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations [There are differences in the ways it works. The word operation is the word worketh.], but it is the same God which worketh all in all."
God is energizing right now. Steve Jaynes added the words in between the brackets [ ] to help you understand the meaning of the Scriptures. The same whenever I use the brackets like both above and below here.
1 Corinthians 12:7 – 11 "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one [profit] is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another [profit] the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another [profit] faith by the same Spirit; to another [profit] the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another [profit] the working of miracles; to another [profit] prophecy; to another [profit] discerning of spirits; to another [profit] divers kinds of tongues; to another [profit] the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally [as each one] as he will."
Manifestation of the spirit is operated as we decide to utilize them. God activates in us. We can do all of them; remember John 14:12: very very I say unto you the works that I've done you can also do and Greater Works than these can you do because I go on to the Father. God energizes all the manifestations and ministries of service as we act.
Philippians "2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
God works within us. Remember Christ in us.
Ephesians 3:20 "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"
The standard is the power that works within us as we act.
Luke 24:49 "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
Power from on high it started on Pentecost.
Acts 1:4 & 5 "And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."
John 1:33 "And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost."
Who did it? Jesus Christ. He's not on vacation. He is not just waiting to return. He's doing things every day around the world where believers have been baptized in his name and call on his name.
Galatians 3:27 "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ."
We have to put Christ in our minds and act as Jesus Christ acted. He is our big brother, and now we can do the work he did in greater. This is not just the leaders. Every believer can do all nine manifestations and have ministries of service to others in the body of Christ.
1 Corinthians 14:12 "Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [Maters] gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church."
This is the theme of our Weekend in the Word. We are to be zealous for spiritual matters and seek to excel in the edifying of the church. Jesus Christ is the head of the church. We should seek to edify the church by all the manifestations and ways of service God energizes.
May God bless you Abundantly
Steve
