Philippa took her Bar exams in 1988, and was called to the Bar in 1999. She worked for 25 years in legal publishing, first for Sweet & Maxwell, and then as a freelancer. In 2011 she gave up her role as assistant editor of the Family Law Reports to become a family mediator. In 2012 Philippa set up Turner & Johnson Mediation, a co-mediation service based in central London, with counsellor and mediator Sheila Turner. She is approved to conduct Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings, or MIAMs which we will find out more about today.
Philippa also became the Family Mediating Association newsletter editor in January 2013 & is actively involved in communication projects & raising awareness for ‘Mediation’ for the FMA, helping to improve its interaction with members, with decision-makers, and with the public.
