What makes a swashbuckler? It's one of those conversations which gets into semantics and specifics. However, the purer you try to define it, the less meaning you gain from the idea.
Swashbuckling is an attitude. One which is seen from characters like Robin Hood, Zorro, or Indiana Jones. They are from different places, different times, and different goals, but each exhibit what it means to swashbuckle.
Laughing in the face of danger. Choosing to defy the odds. Lunging into the thick of things because it's the right thing to do.
As much as any fencing style, it's all about your stance. It's about how you approach the world and conflicts around you.
Don't quibble about exacting definitions. Get out there and Suit Up!
