You and I have been in a pit at some point in our lives. It may not be a physical pit, it may be a pit of depression, a pit of loneliness, or a pit of guilt that we thought we would never climb out of. But Pastor Terry uses the story of the woman caught in adultery to remind us that no matter how far we stray from God, He is always waiting to welcome us home. His hand is outstretched to us, so that we can climb out of the pit and be made whole. That’s something only the Son of God can offer.
