When you study the life of King Saul, it becomes evident rather quickly, that it's like your learning about two different men. Saul starts off great, and he loves the Lord, obeys God's commands, but later in life Saul starts to slowly slip away from God. He was jealous of David, and wanted to be in control rather then surrender to God's will.
