We are bombarded with temptation on a daily basis. Even minute by minute, we find ourselves facing an invitation to sin. If we are following the Scripture, we will flee at the very sight of it. We should avoid going anywhere near a place we know will present temptation. Giving in to sin only leads to guilt and regret. As Pastor Terry continues to lead us through the book of Mark, we witness Jesus purposefully pursuing an encounter with temptation in the wilderness. Because of this encounter, he can sympathize with His beloved Creation as we endure our own time in the wilderness.
