The disciples were very human. We have a tendency to put them on a pedestal, imagining superhuman qualities, but they were subject to the very same weaknesses we find ourselves struggling with every day. They got to interact with Jesus face to face, ask Him questions, literally walking in His footsteps; yet they still didn’t understand Him half of the time. As Pastor Terry reminds us in today’s message, despite these weaknesses, God worked wonders through them. He used them, just like He wants to use us, to spread the incredible message of Christ to the ends of the earth.
