There are many false ideas about what it means to be a Christian, or even how to become one. It is difficult for us to grasp that one who was so continuously close to Jesus could ever become a traitor to Him. But even though Judas was one of the twelve, was he ever really a true disciple? Was he ever truly saved? It is a frightening thing to realize that someone so close to Christ could be lost forever because he deceived himself into thinking his way was the right way.
