Jesus’ anger over the money changers and business operations in His Father’s Temple wasn’t just a flat rejection of exchanging goods or services in the Lord’s house. It was the fact that these opportunists were extorting the poor and those who had traveled from far away, putting them in a situation where they had no choice but to purchase their goods and then charging an exorbitant amount to line their pockets. As Pastor Terry will point out today, this was a mockery of the Temple that had to stop.
