At first, the people were wowed by the miracles God worked through these men - they wanted to make sacrifices to them - but they didn’t want to believe their explanation of who their power really came from. Through the guidance of some anti-Christian Jewish leaders, they shifted from wanting to worship these men to dragging Paul to the edge of the city to stone him to death.
