Yikes! It looks like the background for the book of Ruth isn’t a very pleasant one. The story of Ruth takes place during the time of the Judges when the people of Israel were constantly rebelling against God and dealing with the consequences. However, Pastor Terry shows in today’s message how there is hope for this story because, in the middle of this terrible time, the lineage of Jesus begins to be established, not through an Israelite, but through a foreigner named Ruth.
