A marriage relationship should be entered not with the thought of how will this person make my life better, but rather how can I make the other person’s life better? As Pastor Terry shares from Song of Solomon, the most effective relationships involve each person putting the other first. If all relationships functioned this way, there would be much less conflict, separation, and frustration. Christ modeled this in the Bible continually and put the desire for relationship in us so that we may be fulfilled by giving generously to those around us.
