As Pastor Terry continues his teaching series through the Book of Acts, he'll be encouraging us to stop trying to earn God's favor by performing good works. We cannot earn salvation by our own good deeds, and we also cannot earn God's favor and love by performing good works as well. One of the dangers that has crept into the Church is the doctrine of the sacrifice of Jesus plus something else. Salvation isn't Jesus plus my good works or Jesus plus baptism. Salvation is simply the sacrifice of Jesus and that's all. When you receive that free gift, you naturally desire to do good works.
