The book of Revelation is know for its end time descriptions, but Jesus also spoke of the Tribulation period. Jesus teaches that during this time there will be great afflictions like the world has never seen. We will learn that the abomination will be something that is loathsome and detestable. This will cause people to turn away in disgust. Don't be caught in this desolation, turn to Christ for salvation.
