As much as we hate seeing pride in others, it is harder to face it when we see it in ourselves. When we do finally recognize it, it is often because it has brought us down. Today Pastor Terry assures us that when God allows us to go through this process, it is so that we can be more useful in His kingdom. Humility is a character trait that does not come naturally to most of us. It is much easier for us to think more highly of ourselves than we ought. So it is that from time to time God must open our eyes to the pride that we have yielded to, which is always the first step in overcoming it.
