There are a lot of unbiblical doctrines out there, even among the body of Christ. Some of these may appear to give us a sense of immediate forgiveness and connection with God, because we are going through a man. However, as Pastor Terry makes clear in today's study, Jesus Christ is the only One we need to go to to get clean before God. It is His sacrifice that redeemed us in the first place and He alone has the power to forgive sins. It is only through the presence of His Spirit and the knowledge of His word that we become aware of our sins and assured of our forgiveness.
