Today’s passage contains an account of a conversation that’s foundational to our doctrine as the Church of Jesus Christ. It’s one of a number of places in the Gospels where Jesus makes it clear who He is and what His role is in bringing salvation to mankind. We have to look to Him. Just as the people of Israel looked to the bronze snake with faith for healing, we must look to Jesus, believing that He will provide salvation from the venom of sin that poisons our lives and destroys our souls.
