God’s standard of righteousness is unattainable for humans. He requires purity of heart, mind, and body. Even if you’ve managed an extreme level of self-control, not breaking any of the commandments on a surface level, He can see your heart. He saw the bitterness you had towards that person who hurt you. He saw the feelings of attraction you had towards someone else’s spouse. As Pastor Terry will clarify in today’s message, only when Jesus redeems you can you be made perfect enough for God’s presence?
